Conversations
Interactive chat sessions with AI assistants to find information and get answers
What are Conversations?
Conversations are chat sessions where users interact with AI assistants to ask questions, find information, and get insights from your organization's knowledge base.
Each conversation maintains context across multiple messages, allowing natural back-and-forth dialogue where the assistant remembers previous questions and can provide follow-up answers.

How Conversations Work
1. You Ask a Question
Type your question in natural language. Be as specific or general as you need—the assistant understands context.

The assistant searches all linked Libraries using semantic search to find relevant document chunks related to your question.
3. Answer with Sources
The assistant generates an answer based on found documents and conversation history, including references to source files.

Tips for Effective Conversations
Be Specific
Instead of "Tell me about pricing", ask "What is the pricing structure for our Enterprise plan including volume discounts?"
Ask Follow-Up Questions
Don't hesitate to ask for clarification, examples, or more details. The assistant understands you're building on the previous exchange.
Check Source Documents
Always review the cited sources to verify information and get more context. Click source links to view the full documents.
Rephrase if Needed
If the answer isn't what you expected, try rephrasing your question or providing more context about what you're looking for.
Use Multiple Assistants Wisely
If your question spans multiple domains (e.g., both technical and sales information), add multiple specialized assistants to get comprehensive coverage.
Understanding Limitations
While assistants are powerful, it's important to understand their limitations:
| What Assistants Can Do | What Assistants Cannot Do |
|---|---|
| Answer questions based on documents in linked Libraries | Access information not in the knowledge base |
| Understand context from conversation history | Remember information from other conversations |
| Cite sources for their answers | Browse the internet or access external data |
| Follow behavior instructions from base cases | Perform actions outside of answering questions |
| Search across multiple Libraries simultaneously | Modify or create documents |
| Provide answers in real-time | Guarantee 100% accuracy (always verify important info) |
Verify Critical Information
AI assistants can occasionally misinterpret or misrepresent information. Always verify critical facts by checking the source documents, especially for important decisions.
